Second Chance
This activity consists of five different areas including administration, permaculture gardens, retail, landscape gardens and wood working.  The activity allows participants to select an area they are interested in and develop skills by being actively involved in hands on tasks.  For example, at the gardens participants harvest vegetables, create garden beds, lay seeds and have recently constructed a green house solely from recycled materials (the next project is the building of a kitchen using only recycled materials and the sun as a source of power).

Computer Rebuild II
This activity involves participants checking, diagnosing problems and rebuilding computers.  Businesses and Government departments in the local Bendigo area donate their old computers to this organisation.  The computers are checked, rebuilt then donated back to local families who may otherwise have no access to computers.

Bendigo District Aboriginal Cooperative
This activity comprises three separate areas including medical reception, office administration and working with elders.  This program focuses on the delivery and development of health services to Indigenous people.  Participants involved in this activity will be part of a very focused, service orientated team who will support their development in the chosen area.

Righteous Pups
If you like dogs you’ll love this. Participants on this activity are involved in all tasks associated with training 4 puppies that will be placed in the homes of people with disabilities.  To date the dogs have been trained to open doors, assist with shopping (including taking your purse and giving it to the sales assistant), they can open the fridge door, assist you to take off your jumper and they will even tolerate a pet cat or bird!

This activity enables participants to gain working skills in all areas of a busy retail environment.  Participants become one of the team who are responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service (including techniques on up selling), operating a cash register, cash handling, stocking shelves and creating eye catching store displays.

In the House
An exciting activity for anyone who is interested in learning how to train adults.  Participants are involved in a range of hands on activities that enable them to gain an insight into how adults learn, the skills to develop training packages and techniques in how best to deliver training to adults.  Through participation in this activity, participants have the opportunity to gain Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.

RSPCA Castlemaine

School Environment Support Program
An exciting program that gives participants the opportunity to be involved in the upkeep of a local Bendigo primary school.  The activity involves participants providing much needed assistance to the schools maintenance person.  Through involvement in this activity participants are responsible for maintaining garden areas, constructing new playground seating and making general repairs in and around the school
