The Salvation Army Employment Plus delivers more than just employment services. We are committed to the welfare and wellbeing of all members of the community, operating a number of community programs that seek to restore the hope and dignity of all individuals. The Salvation Army Employment Plus contributes to the government’s Work for the Dole Program, managing the provision of work experience opportunities to more than 5000 candidates around Australia.
Our mission within this program is to provide an opportunity for candidates to contribute to a worthwhile endeavour within their local community. At the same time, we seek to assist them to develop useful work, interpersonal and networking skills, and enhanced confidence and self-esteem. The team of The Salvation Army Employment Plus Community Work Coordinators has strong links to community groups and works tirelessly to secure rewarding placements for candidates. From permaculture to tourism, music production to public relations, we seek to find the most stimulating and appropriate roles for our candidates.
The Salvation Army Employment Plus works closely with The Salvation Army and local, not-for-profit community organisations to develop creative solutions to meet the needs of unemployed people. This is not the first time The Salvation Army has been involved in labour exchange activity, in fact our founder William Booth established the first Labour Bureau in the United Kingdom in 1890.
We have placed over 6000 people in work experience opportunities over the last three years. At The Salvation Army Employment Plus, we’ll work with you and support you as you move toward your goal.
